The commitment and service that AACC provided during a family members recovery went above my expectations. Initially, Rob and Jim spent a substantial amount of time with us and answered all of our questions. The entire staff showed genuine care throughout treatment for our family member. I would highly recommend their program to anyone looking to get sober. Our family is grateful for their help.

The Commencement Center is a great place to start your recovery. The staff is outstanding. They give you the tools for you to manage your recovery. I have a drug and alcohol problem and the staff helped me with both. I finished the out-patient program and the aftercare program. I have been sober for over two years now. I would recommend the Athens Commencement Center to anyone who wants to get their life back.

I have worked closely as an intern with this treatment center for the past few months, and WOW! These people are doing such a great service to provide the BEST treatment plan (that truly WORKS) for those seeking long-term recovery & sober lifestyle. Their program is intended for individuals as well as the family/support system of the individual in treatment. The staff are kind, genuine, committed, and real; they truly want to help every client in the best way possible. They engage with each individual as a "person" before their "disease." The commencement center certainly feels like a family and provides a sense of welcoming that makes even clients who have relapsed, return the next day. It is heart warming to see a treatment team work so diligently in order to see a new light in the lives of others in need. I've witnessed many graduates whose lives are changed (some even travel from out of state), but the graduates also understand that recovery takes beyond 6 weeks of treatment; it takes understanding the disease, steps to prevent relapse, patience, and perseverance. I would recommend this treatment center for ANYONE seeking a hopeful future and new purpose for their life. The levels of care and success at AACC do not compare to any other treatment centers in the U.S.

AACC has not only a top notch facility but a top notch staff as well. From the counselors to the nurses, every employee has the client’s best interest in mind. I would recommend AACC to anyone and feel lucky to have been able to experience what they have to offer.

I am so grateful for the AACC. this was the beginning of my new life in recovery. I was welcomed with open arms and taught how to live my life in recovery. My addiction took me places I never thought I would go. I had lost everything in my life and was in a huge downward spiral. They taught me how to live my life without drugs and alcohol and introduced me into many support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous and narcotic anonymous. They also offer a wonderful aftercare program where I could go and discuss my problems as well as my feelings and then offer positive solutions. I highly recommend this place if you are struggling with addiction. My life today is better than I would have ever believed it could be and it all started at AACC. THANK YOU, for showing me how to live again.

The Athens Area Commencement Center is a fantastic place that helped save my life. The outpatient program is well structured and helps you maintain and manage your life and sobriety. My only regret is that I did not go sooner. The counselors and staff are absolute professionals and experts that will treat you with respect. I highly recommend the Commencement Center to all families looking to get help for their loved ones or themselves. The Aftercare program is also a necessity for continued personal development. Please call and they will help.

AACC saved my life, my family, and my businesses. I am an alcoholic and had tried several expensive, high profile in patient programs which did not work for me. My health was suffering, my wife had left me and my businesses were struggling, all due to my addiction and inability to address my problems. I felt helpless and was at my rock bottom. I found AACC and made a call to them. I received a prompt response from Jim and then Rob. I agreed to join their out-patient program and started that same day. Upon arrival, I was provided immediate and excellent medical attention to assist with Detox and other medical issues. I attended group and individual sessions daily for six weeks and would return home at night. This program is different from all others. AACC provides you with an excellent education concerning addiction as well as the needed tools to regain your life and happiness. The AACC program is different. If you are ready for a real solution but feel hopeless, definitely seek help from AACC. The team at AACC will warmly welcome you with open arms and provide you with the education and tools needed to defeat any addiction, alcohol. and\or drugs for the rest of your life. I also recommend the After Care program. After Care provides the ongoing support needed to remain addiction free for the rest of your life as well as stay in touch with people that you met during rehab. AACC will provide you everything needed to restore your life and happiness, regardless of your situation.

The Athens Area Commencement Center has restored my husband's life and family. My husband was addicted to pain medication so severely that he was unable to stop taking them because of the violent withdrawals. The outpatient detox program worked out great and allowed my husband to go to treatment during the day and continue detoxing at home. I never thought this could be possible. The staff reassured me and made us feel hopeful that this was possible and their experience was inevitable. It was also very convenient to have such a great program local that my husband could get help from. Not only did the Commencement Center help my husband, but they helped our marriage and our families life. Everyone at the Commencement Center was compassionate and always available. I strongly recommend the Athens Area Commencement Center for anyone with a drug addiction. They make you feel like part of their family.

Our business, Thrasher Photo and Design, recently created a new website and video for the Athens Area Commencement Center. Everyone on the staff was so friendly and easy to work with, and we found the center offices and meeting areas welcoming and comfortable. We especially liked that the Commencement Center is family-owned and operated, and that they've been committed to and involved in the Athens recovery community for decades. The Center also works closely with local University of Georgia professors and Athens-area medical professionals to stay on top of the very latest in treatment and counseling. And the best part is Beau, the therapy dog! We really got to know the AACC team well by working with them, and I can safely say that they are the friendliest and most knowledgeable at what they do in North Georgia.

Truly a life-changing experience. Though the process required my willingness and a lot of difficult work, The Athens Area Commencement Center provided me the stabilization, education and treatment necessary to begin a new life in recovery. The staff is comprehensively knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. For those who want it, this program WILL work for you. My most sincere gratitude is extended to the staff, especially Beau, without whom many days would have been a lot less bright.

First and foremost, my God gets all the credit and honor for my sobriety today. But there is no doubt in my heart or in my mind that He worked through The Athens Area Commencement Center and its staff to get through to me. I was hopeless, or so I thought, when I was brought into the Commencement center by my dad. My family and I didn't at that time know very much about addiction but we did know Jim Hinzman and we knew I needed help. The staff at the Commencement Center not only informed and educated both myself and my family on my addiction to alcohol but they were also instrumental in giving me a safe place to receive healing, forgiveness and love. I came in convinced I was both beyond help, forgiveness and that I was unlovable. My counselor told me that she had enough faith that I could recover for the both of us until I could find my own faith and that she would love me until I could love myself again and she did both. The entire staff at the Commencement Center did those things for me. They also had the knowledge and wisdom to know when I needed more. After 8 weeks of outpatient treatment there and still not being able to stay away for alcohol they helped me come to the decision to go to a live-in recovery home for women. That was 12 years ago next week and I have been sober ever since by the Grace of God and program of Alcoholics Anonymous. When I came back from the recovery home the Commencement Center continued in the process of helping me learn to live sober one day at a time by offering me the opportunity to participate in their Aftercare program which I did for a long time. Now let me also share that just because we get sober doesn't mean life doesn't still happen. When I had been sober for 19 months my mom died in her sleep for unknown reasons at 54 years old. The Commencement Center staff, my counselor and the people I had met there and in the rooms of AA were there for me in way that others couldn't be. They rallied around and held me up when the ground gave way beneath me. Because of what they taught me and showed me I didn't have to drink alcohol to get through the unbearable pain and I was able to actually be there and be of service to my family as went through this devastating loss. The Athens Area Commencement Center will forever hold a special place in my heart and I pray that God richly blesses the staff there and what they are doing in the lives of people just like me. They not only know what they are doing but they CARE about what they are doing and they care about people they are doing for.

I went here for help with my alcohol problem. They were able to detox me safely and I continued treatment for their six week program. I was very happy with all of their staff (especially Beau) and have been sober for almost two years now. The treatment they provide is top notch (sadly it wasn't my first) and definitely the most valuable. I am forever grateful to their staff for helping me get back to work and functional again.

This place saved my son's life. We had tried everything to help him but didn't have any success until we found the Commencement Center. They helped him get off pills and gave him his life back. He's working again and doing great. We are so grateful to the staff that included us in his treatment, were really easy to get in touch with, and treated us like family. The therapy dog is a great bonus. Highly recommend.
